WWE DVD Review – Money In The Bank 2012
For years the MITB concept was the highlight of WWE events. Now that the innovative match has been given its own PPV we can enjoy it even more. The idea behind MITB is simple a match winner gets to grab a case and in that he has a shot at the World Title (which can be cashed in at anytime). The MITB matches have been the ones that have elevated many of the WWE's current stars and made them real stars for the company.
This DVD release by Silvervision is a nice addition to the calendar and one that really does warrant a second or third viewing.
The opening scrap between Hunico/Comancho and Kofi Kingston/R-Truth is an entertaining effort.
Next up the MITB Ladder Match revs things up and gives us an insight into the excitement a match of this style can offer up. Dolph Ziggler, Christian and Cody Rhodes stood out here and gave their all in the spot-fest that ensued.
The world Heavyweight Title was up for grabs next and it featured Ireland's own Sheamus (champion) battling his long-term thorn in his side Alberto Del Rio. Sheamus is indeed improving and Del Rio is a man so talented that he could get a good match out of anyone. This is well worth a punt.
Unfortunately for your review the Titus O'Neil/Darren Young and Primo/Epico bout didn't float my boat. The addition of R-Truth and Kofi on commentary did help but.
As a big fan of Daniel Bryan I don't wish to be biased here. Suffice to say that the NO DQ match between him and CM Punk is a real highlight of MITB 2012 for me. Viewers will see exactly why when they view it again.
Ryback continued his 'Goldberg' style run next with a decimation of Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins in a swift encounter. The two-on-one odds proving to be not a huge deal to the big man.
The Diva's got their chance to shine next and whilst the division is knocked often for its poor talent the ladies here were mostly above par. The teams of Layla, Kaitly, Tamina and Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Eve featured at least four good workers. This may be a short match, but it is fun.
Up next we get the MITB Ladder match for the WWE Title shot. The name value hee alone makes this worth watching. When you factor in Kane, Chris Jericho, Big Show, John Cena and The Miz you know you are in for something special and this one is indeed. The finish may be popular knowledge by now, but that cannot ruin the encounter.
MITB 2012 is a great DVD and one that will sit nicely alongside your collection. The matches are mostly above par and the action throughout will certainly keep you entertained.

New WW Brock Lesnar DVD News
Silvervision.co.uk has released the trailer for WWE's upcoming Brock Lesnar video release, Brock Lesnar - Here Comes the Pain!. The majority of the content will be the same as the 2003 DVD of the same title, but updated with new footage and interviews to reflect Lesnar's 2004 departure and return to the organization.
The synopsis for the product reads: "The night after WrestleMania XXVIII, Brock Lesnar made a shocking return to the ring and leveled John Cena with an F-5, sending a message that after eight years, the pain is back! In 2002 and 2003, The Next Big Thing brought it to the biggest and baddest competition in WWE, becoming the youngest WWE Champion of all time and a household name virtually overnight. His awe-inspiring physique, amateur championship pedigree and affinity for punishing opponents made him an unstoppable force in the ring. Now, after years of dominating the MMA scene, Brock is back and looking to steamroll the biggest Superstars of today. This rerelease of the 2003 DVD, Here Comes the Pain, includes the original documentary that chronicles Brock's meteoric rise to fame, as well as six hours of additional matches not included on the original DVD! Plus, here Brock's controversial comments upon his return to sport entertainment! . Fans can experience classic matches against Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and many more!"
The set will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on Oct. 30, 2012.

Mick Foley is back in WWE! He was in the UK last year for his Stand Up Comedy Tour and he's back again this February for a second tour. He's also returned to WWE and has even wrestled! We chatted to Mick about his comedy and his wrestling.
QMick, when we last spoke you were about to embark on your comedy tour of the UK, how did that go?
AWell, I guess it went well enough to merit a return. That's the thing about sequels; they don't make them very often for failures. Which is why there was never a second Chamber of Horrors match...or a second Kennel From Hell. I had a blast on that last tour, and I think just about everyone who showed up did as well.
QDid the audiences differ from much those in America?
AThe audiences did differ quite a bit from those in America - nowhere near the number of Americans! Actually, without pandering (not that I'm above it) the UK audiences seem to pick up on subtleties more than most US audiences do. A smaller percentage of the US audience picks up on some of the things the UK audiences appreciated readily. That makes it fun for me.
QTell us about Tori Amos in Glasgow?
AOh, that night in Glasgow was an incredible experience on that last tour! Never again will be able to walk a single block from one of my gigs into a venue where my favorite performer is playing. It was just great; a sold-out, very enthusiastic crowd, a great night of music, and a very nice chat with Tori. She's been just great to me. But I say it will never happen again, because if it happens once, it's a charming circumstance. If it happened again, she might find it a little creepy. She might have extra security waiting for me at the door!
QYou'e recently returned to Raw, what was it like to be back in WWE again?
AReturning to Raw was very nice - like returning home after a few years away. But my first WWE shows back were off televsion, in Dublin, Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle. Dublin was the first, and it was a surprise to everyone, even the WWE Superstars and Divas. Everyone did a double-take, and said, "oh, it's you" and walked away unenthusiastically. Actually, it was a happy scene - plenty of hugs to go around!
QDo you think maybe there's one more WrestleMania match left for Mick Foley and if so who would you like it to be against?
AI just don't think I've got another great Wrestlemania match left in me. I mean, I could always be IN a match, but i think my days at or near the top of the card are behind me. But the Rumble showed that there might be a market for a Santino/Foley team...maybe a "Crouching Cobra, Hidden Socko" type of thing.
QWill you be doing anything differently on your second comedy tour here in the UK?
AI like to go with the flow when I do these shows. On one night, for example, I may do mainly material inspired by questions I get during the meet and greet, which will inspire some type of story or ridiculous observation. I'm also thinking of debuting some things that have been bouncing around inside my brain for a while. The only thing I can guarantee is that the material will be almost completely different than what I did in November on my last tour. Plus, I am working on an entrance that will be woth the price of admission alone! People can just get up and leave after the entrance if they want; I won't be offended. Especially if they buy a t-shirt on their way out.
QLots of fans have been calling for you to become the new GM of Raw. Is this a position you'd like and if so what be your first big change?
AI would love to be the GM of Raw. Talk about a dream job. I really wish I'd stayed on long-term when I had that gig in 2000. I'm not sure what my first move would be, but there are so many good young Superstars I could play off of. I still get fans asking me about the suff I did with Edge and Christian when I was commissioner. I would love to create that type of chemistry with some of the current Superstars..and Divas. There is already a vague sexual tension between me and the Bellas backstage - so thick you can cut it with a knife!
QDo you have another book planned? Any scoops for us?
AI actually just started my next book today. It's a WWE children's book and I'm hoping it will be out before Christmas 2012. It will be a unique holiday tale, with a little bit of a lesson learned for a naughty kid like the Miz.
QIn one sentence, why should people come to see one of your stand up comedy shows in February?
AMy comedy is still largely an unknown entity to people on both sides of the Atlantic. So most of those who come are still taking something of a leap of faith; trusting that i will not let them down. Almost everyone who showed up last time walked away very pleasantly surprised. I think that will be the case again this time. Just lower your expectations and you'll be fine!

WWE Top 50 Superstars Of All Time - DVD Review

This recently released triple disc DVD box set does something that many of us fans do each and every time we watch a wrestling match, it puts forward it’s list of top grapplers in history and then justifies that choice. The nice touch here is that rather it being yourself and a few friends debating who your favourite is, this is a list of 50 wrestlers as chosen by the current WWE roster.
Now for more die hard fans some of the choices here will seem a bit odd and the short vignettes covering each superstar are minus many high points and career highlights, but we have to accept that 50 names and long histories does take some time, so fat does need trimmed as it where to ensure this first disc runs smooth.
So who can you expect to see featured in this run down of top WWE superstars? Well lets just say that the ranking of some of the worlds most famous grapplers such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and ‘ Rowdy’ Roddy Piper may shock quite a few viewers. Elsewhere though there are some nice inclusions that will please and interest fans old and new, these included Killer Kowalski (the man who trained Triple H), Rick Rude, The Funk Brothers (Terry & Dory Junior), Nick Bockwinckle, Jake’The Snake’ Roberts, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage and many other stars from today and yesteryear.
What’s nice about this release is that even if the wrestler is now working for another company, retired or left under a cloud, the WWE have still put together a nice career retrospective short film to suit them, mostly featuring talking heads from the current WWE roster and the stars peers. The footage even the vintage stuff looks well and there has been some care put into this package.
The other two discs house some 20 matches of varying quality featuring many of the top 50 and are well worth the price of the release alone. There are some rare and never seen before on DVD bouts here and even the slowest old school style one has something to offer modern fans and collectors. If only to see how many of today’s top stars have modelled their acts on some of the legends of old.
Without wanting to ruin the fun and joy of reading the entire match list on your new DVD, here are a few of my personal highlights featured here. Harley Race versus Terry Funk, Gorilla Monsoon versus Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan versus Iron Sheik, Jerry ‘The King’Lawlere versus Curt Hennig and the much hyped Bret ‘Hit Man’ Hart match against Ric Flair in Saskatoon for the WWE Championship. The majority of the matches on offer are perfect examples as to why the featured superstars have made the grade and been nominated for their spot on this set.

WWE DVD News
WWE has confirmed three DVD titles for 2011 that we reported on a few months back. Those are The Randy Orton Experience, Million Dollar Man: Ted DiBiase and WCW Nitro: Best of Seasons 1 & 2.
- Silvervision has confirmed two matches set for WWE's upcoming DVD on Big Show. Big Show: A Giant's World is scheduled to be released on February 22nd. Those matches are The Giant vs. Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Title on the April 4th, 1996 episode of WCW Nitro and the WCW World Heavyweight Title match and Sumo Monster Truck Competition between The Giant and Hulk Hogan at WCW's Halloween Havoc 1995.

WWE Summerslam 2010 DVD Review

Summerslam is the WWE’s annual mid-year card that helps build on the Wrestlemania fallout and create a buzz as the winter season approaches. This year the main storyline evolving in the WWE was the newly titled Nexus group (members of the NXT series) and their frustration at WWE management.
This combined with the firing of their main man Daniel Bryan (a cleverly worked storyline or a real life travesty of Political correctness gone mad, no one really knows) led to a seven-on-seven main event between the Nexus and John Cena fronted WWE mainstays (including Bret hart, John Morrison, Edge and Chris Jericho).
The match itself has been documented before, but the in-ring action and surprise appearance by Bryan (as a team WWE member) all helped elevate it to a decent effort form all concerned. Considering the Nexus were not ready for such a high level bout they did try their best.
Elsewhere Kane continued his pursuit of the mystery man who injured The Undertaker and battled Rey Mysterio for the maniacal monster’s World Title.
Sheamus Defended his WWE Championship against perennial thorn in his side Randy Orton, Alicia Fox tackled Melina over the Divas belt, Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston butted heads with the Intercontinental strap on the line and The Big Show took matter into his own hands with the Straight Edge Society by battling all three members in a handicap match.
Summerslam was not perhaps one of the WWE’s many highs of 2010, but it did continue to build up the Nexus groups standing and push along some decent storylines, things were dodgy in parts, but it does still hold its own and merit a purchase.
Summerlsam 2010 is out on general release on November 15th 2010 and is available from www.silvervision.co.uk
