Divas Respond to a Negative WWE Magazine Article
The official WWE website posted a pseudo-shoot article Sunday asking whether the Divas division needs saving from “model” talent such as Kelly Kelly and whether Beth Phoenix and Natalya, the “Divas of Doom,” can be the ones to do it.
Katie Raymond, the author of the article, wrote: “Stinkfaces. Booty poppin’. If you’re a purist about a woman’s place inside the WWE ring, you must be wondering what Fabulous Moolah is thinking looking down on the Divas division. Would the iconic figure chalk up the current flux of the division on changing times, or would she say, “Someone needs to save this”?
“Beth Phoenix and Natalya, the “Divas of Doom,” think so. However, are The Glamazon and third-generation Diva just the two women to call “saviors”?
“First, Brie Bella wins the Divas Championship. Diva purists cringed. Then, Kelly Kelly – who has improved markedly inside the ring – netted the butterfly title. Diva purists started pointing fingers and lashing out. This can’t be happening. Not in a division that has seen the likes of Moolah, Trish Stratus, Lita and Melina bear the Women’s Title. How are these “model” Divas getting their names etched in the history books? Do only “pretty faces” matter?”
Some of the Divas took to Twitter on the topic:
Eve Torres: I’d love to step into the ring whomever wrote this, & c who needs saving. #Iwillbootypopinyourfacethenmakeyoutap
Don’t ever let anyone undermine your hard work, label your character, or set limits to your potential. #BeliEVE!
And trust that that’s not taking anything away from @natbynature or @thebethphoenix. Everyone is equally dedicated to taking the Divas division to the next level!
Kelly Kelly: #divas were just doing what we love, entertaining every week We’ve all worked very hard to get here just wish all this hate would go away.
Nikki Bella: Wow @WWE definitely woke up 2 an embarrassing article you wrote… Well u wanted to know everyone’s thoughts @WWEUniverse, Here’s Nikki B’s
First off…. Um you want me to slap you with all of my awards and championships I have won? I was a #1 athlete… Which other Diva was?
Secondly, Bri & @RealKellyKelly have been the only entertainment that has happened 2 the Diva’s Division & have worked harder than anyone!
Thirdly, I’ve seen 2 girls the past few weeks try as hard as they can to be “models” while us “models” have busted our butts…..
Oh and good luck with the up and coming Divas…. Sure you’ll make a lot of money with them…. Um actually NOT!
Lastly, @RealKellyKelly & Us are better than anyone in the past so Katie Raymond check your self and come read this article to my face! NB
Brie Bella: Wow, I just woke up to the craziness! The words spoken by Katie are laughable, but I’m a women who will stand for what I believe in…so…
I know what I’ve given to the fans and that’s all what matters. WWE might think your a bunch of puppets that are persuaded by their words..
I know how you all feel good and bad, I love it! I mean if WWE cared about Divas why do we have such little time on tv?
Why were divas such as Mickey James, Melina and Gail Kim released. Why aren’t wrestlers like Sara Del Ray hired? All amazing!…….
Kelly Kelly and myself have worked to hard to have an unknown, untalented writer say the things she did. Katie (whoever) Suck it! Love Brie
Beth Phoenix: Its not the Divas Division that needs saving, but the WWE Universe. Myself and @NatbyNature are on a mission to make you change your minds..
As long as I can remember I have worked my butt off and been underappreciated while the crowd adores @RealKellyKelly and @EveMarieTorres…
I am tired of looking and being the best and being passed over time and time again. Im done asking for approval. And just getting started

WWE Kaitlyn coments on diets and the WWE
WWE Diva and fitness competitor Kaitlyn reveals in a recent blog on Hardbody.com that she has lost 10lbs. after getting on the "caveman diet." Below is what she wrote about joining the WWE main roster and when she decided to change her diet:
"September 7th, 2010 was my official tv debut.. And the last time I can remember being sane, until now.
My schedule was non-stop. I was traveling so much I couldn’t remember what city/state I was leaving or heading to. When I would return home, I would have to go straight to practice, shows, or training for the developmental program, which I’m currently still a part of. I was getting 4-5 hours of sleep and even went 3 months straight without a day off. This was the “oh sh*t” method of learning how to be a WWE superstar on the fast-track. Looking back, I wouldn’t change one thing. Well… Except the blobish shape that my body had transformed into.
Seriously, I went from strict routine to utter chaos in no time and my body was the evidence. I tried some of the diets that had worked for me in the past but nothing was effective because there wasn’t much time for morning cardio and strict routine. I lost a sense of who I was.
After I ended up winning season 3 of NXT, my life regained a small sense of order. I was put on the Smackdown roster and began to try to find some consistency. Constantly traveling isn’t ideal for staying in great shape but this is my new way of life! I have always taken pride in being strong, muscular and in shape. And this blobish “shape” didn’t cut it.
Have you ever heard that doing the same thing over and over with the same unsatisfactory result is the definition of insanity? True… So very painstakingly true. So I looked in the mirror at where my abs had once been and said, “You’re better than this, McFatty”.
So I decided to tried the “caveman diet”. It’s different than anything I had ever done before. Basically, I started eating everything fresh. I started taking in way more fresh/raw veggies and even added fruit in 2-3 times a day. Now, if you have ever dieted strictly, you know that fruit is mostly “forbidden” due to it’s high sugar content. So eating fruit was glorious.
Next, I began eating whole eggs, tuna, salmon and nuts as my means of protein. Bye-bye red meat, chicken and beloved turkey patties. Basically, I stopped eating carbs “intentionally” and got them from fruit and fibrous veggies. I also ended up eating about 15-20 grams of fat per meal."

WWE Melina pre-roster cut interview highlights
WWE Diva Melina spoke with Slam Wrestling this past week. Here are some highlights:
Fans thinking she has lost her push:
"That's just the way it goes. Nothing goes smoothly all the time in life, nothing's always perfect in any career. In this business, everybody's going to get their shot; I can't always get mine. And I accept that. It's not that I'm being punished. It's just the way it goes. My fans may want me to get more time, to get more of a push, and I'm happy that they think that. I'm glad that they think that, because that means they still care. And one day it will happen, you've got to be patient."
Divas dealing with less time and getting credit:
"I trust there's a reason that we get the time we get, and that there's going to be a day that we get even more. But until then, we give everything that we can in our allotted time. I think there's an art to that, and I'm very proud of all the girls on the roster that we're able to do what we can in that amount of time. People don't always give the girls the credit that we deserve. I'm not saying that's within the company, because I know in our company people do know what we have to offer. But I think the 'smart' fans sometimes think that we're being held back because we're not talented -- but we are. I work with these girls every day, and I know what they have to offer.
It's so difficult. We have to look good with our costumes, our hair, and our makeup. And still be PG. But then we have so much more to prove, since because we're women, it's like people think we're not going to be good wrestlers, or they judge us. People don't realize how much more work we have to do to prove that we can hang, that we're here, that we deserve to be here."
Missing the role of being a manager:
"I miss it. It was a lot of fun. You can be a character behind it, and show little details. There's so much to be said for doing the little things, like showing a little facials, the way I react to my guy and what he's doing. I also miss cheating, doing stuff behind the ref's back. I like being a heel. Being a heel is fun, because there's so much fun you can have with the character. I get to act crazy, and basically be my alter-ego. When people are rude and mean to me, the person that I really am, I just say, 'Okay, let it go, and keep moving on with my day.' As a heel, I can take all those moments where I thought, 'I wish I could have said this to that person, or done that to this person' and put it into that character and act it out in the ring."

DieHard Wrestling Interviews WWE Diva Trish Stratus
DieHard Wrestling Interviews WWE Diva Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus is perhaps one of the most recognizable female athletes in all of sports entertainment. The fitness model turned pro wrestler has held the World Wrestling Entertainment Women's championship on seven occasions and her name is constantly up for consideration for induction into the illustrious WWE Hall of Fame.
Prior to her return to the WWE, where she will partake as a trainer for the revamped Tough Enough series on MTV, DieHard Derek had the chance to briefly sit down and chat with the diva about her thoughts on the retirement of the original WWE Women's title, comparisons between WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts, and the prospect of her posing for Playboy Magazine.
