Rob Terry TNA Global Champ

As a veteran wrestling fan (over 25 years) I've seen only one title belt change hands in a match iI've witnessed live, that was the WCW title being dropped by Vader to Sting n 1992 (fact fans). So I was surprised to see TNA allow Rob Terry to win the Global Belt in his hometown of Wales this week. often hometown grapplers can lose of end up countout victors, Terry was lucky eh! he seems like a nice guy, but he should neveer hold a strap in a major promotion. I love UK tours spawning potential title changes, but they need to be ones we can enjoy, embrace and savour (sorry Rob).

British Invasion UK Training Session

Check out website www.gladiator-oblivion.com for details on a UK training session with TNA tag team duo Doug Williams and Nick 'Brutus Magnus' Aldis. The pair will be offering training advice, promo hints, character development, conditioning and other pro wrestling career hints.

£100 per person and on Feb 20 & 21, 12pm-5pm, could be interesting!

Honky Tonk Man not in the WWE Hall of Fame, TNA Bound?

Check out the official Honky Tonk Man website, www.honkytonkman.net he has some not so kind words about the WWE and about the Hall of Fame/Wrestelmania, he is stating that he has turned down a spot at this years event and is in negotiations with rivals TNA, could be interesting, but what really can Honky offer the TNA product these days?

Sid's TNA dream a pipe one!

Sid Eudy (psycho sid/sid vicious) had hopes of joining TNA ( I even wrote about his plans), he has yet to be contacted by the company and is urging fans to join sites that are petitioning for his return to the big time.

Jericho & Helms Arrested

Chris Jericho and Gregory Helms have been arrested (and released) for being intoxicated, the offence happened in kentucky, the pair will receive a small fine and most probaby a reprimand from WWE higher-ups.

TNA Title Change in the UK

Wale's own Rob Terry (of the British Invasion) nabbed the Global Title from Eric Young during the Welsh leg of the Current TNA tour yesterday, how long he keeps remains a mystery, but don;t expect classic matches when he defends it.

Rare Pic Time Again Dynamite Kid

Here is a pic I took during Tommy 'Dynamite Kid' Billington's last set of UK shows before his back injury put him in a wheelchair.

he was beat up, bruised and in pain, but put on a hell of a show, even hittig a flying headbutt and some wicked suplexs.

TNA notes

The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky) are heading to the UK to round off the tour, they will be there from Bournemouth I hear.

Nash is said to be unhappy about the nickname 'The Band' for his group with Hall and Waltman (former NWO trio), he is saying it is dated and not with the times, not unlike the curent old boys taking over tv concept eh!

Beer Money are rumoured to be fed up with thier current situation, they are mid card and expendable (accoridng to some TNA higher ups), the duo are one of the best things about TNA, they need to get more faith placed on them and they will deliver.

According to various sources, Awesome Kong has asked to leave TNA, this may be due to the Bubba the Loev Sponge incident over the last few days or other backstage shake-ups, Alissa Flash has also reportedly asked to leave the company.

More as I get it.

TNA Genesis Notes

Some notes on tonights Genesis PPV, Brian Kendrick is rumoured to be the mystery opponent for Amazing Red.

Also as I have mentioned before, it looks likely that the six-sided ring may be done away with tonight, bad move in my opinion as it really does make the company stand out froom the WWE and offer a different sttyyle of grappling that their competition.

TNA GENESIS SURPRISE!

the major aquisition being hyped up for Genesis tonight is said to be former wwe ken 'mr kennedy' anderson, he is of course fresh off the recent hulkamania australian tour like many other recent signings.

TNA Genesis Card for this Sunday

Here is the announced card for the upcoming genesis PPV, plus of course a surprise or two (so expect some Hogan cohorts to turn up).

TNA World Heavyweight Title Match
Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles
Angle's Last Shot at AJ's World Title in 2010

TNA World Tag Team Title Match
Matt Morgan & Hernandez vs. The British Invasion

TNA Knockouts Title Match
Tara vs. ODB
Best of 3 Falls

TNA X Division Title Match
Amazing Red vs. Opponent to be Announced That Night

Scott Hall & Kevin Nash vs. Beer Money

Bobby Lashley vs. Abyss

Sean Morley vs. Daniels

Desmond Wolfe vs. The Pope

X Pac & TNA

I must admit it was odd to see Sean X Pac Waltman on TNA TV, considering he was most recently touring with Irish Indy outfit AWR (American Wrestling Rampage)and performing to crowds of 500 or so (one of which I was last year at the Ulster Hall in Belfast where he faced Rene Du Pre), so it just goes to show you the world of wrestling can be an odd one, one minute you are picking up smal paychecks and the next you are back in the big time (well TNA). Of course the odds are that Sean may well mess things up and end up back on the Indy circuit, he has been brought in due to his NWO connections and to take the bumps for his pals Hall and Nash, but if he misbehaves, he will I am sure be gone as quick as he appeared.

Ric Flair Signed Pic

I thought it was very appropriate now to publish this pic, I got it way back in 1993 and it is a limited edition signed pic of the legendary Ric Flair, it was taken as he celebrated his 11th world heavyweight title win at starrcade that year. Considering Flair's retirment, return to the ring on the Hulkamania Australia tour and his re-appearance on TNA programming I thought it was a perfect time to share this pic with fellow Flair fans.

Phil

Gail Kim Pic

Here is a lovely signed pic of former TNA star and current WWE diva Gail Kim, I was fortunate enough to see Gail wrestle Awesome Kong a few times and can safely say she is a superb grappler and a genuinely nice person also.

TNA news

Ric Flair's TNA contract is for 65 appearances over the year, he is also said to be planning an in-ring return too.

Kaz(suicide) and Traci brooks tied the knot this week with many TNA stars in attendence, Daniels was best man.

SEan Waltman may already be in trouble, he is said to have upset backstage staff by arriving late for this weeks Impact!

The futures of Scott Steiner and Kip james are said to be hanging in the balance right now, james has been off TV for a while now and Steibner is working well in his feud with bobby Lahsley (however that will not last forever), only time will tell with these two, plus of course Hoagn's mates are coming in gradually too.

TNA Impact notes

So Hulk Hoagn finally made his (ahem) Impact on TV TV, boy was it worth the wait, the Hulkster brought with him Jeff hardy, Ric Flair, Nasty Boys, Val Venis, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman and of course Eric Bischoff. The show saw appearances by all the above, plus Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Kurt Angle and most of the current TNA roster, highlights were Hardy's cage top salute ot the crowd, Hogan's debut, the Angle/Styles match and of course the ending where Foley was beat-down.

Dr Death

As I reported Dr Death Steve Williams did pass away this past week, for a nice piece on his life see The Sun's website for comments by Jim Ross.

TNA Hogan Debut

So we UK fans will not get to see the Hogan debut tonight, but will get a two hour version this coming Saturday, I reckon by then we will all have hit the web and seen it for ourselves via TNA'S WEBSITE OR OTHER PLACES. I'm writing a piece on it tonight anyway, I hope to be able to pick up as much as I can and report it here (or via the Sun website) by tomorrow lunchtime.

I expect some big things from Hogan's debut and to see Scott Hall, Sean Waltman and perhaps even RVD turn up as well.
